Problematic nature
According to the drinking water regulations water must have a minimum of hardness. Water from reverse osmosis units is extremely soft and does not contain hardness. To add calcium and hydrogen carbonate a mineral filter might be connected after an R.O. unit.

Function
The carbonic acid that is still in the permeate of a reverse osmosis unit is able to dissolve the calcite containing material of the mineral filter. The water will be sup-plied with calcium and hydrogen carbon-ate.

General information
If the water contains bacteria or if the water has temperature above 15¡ãC the mineral filter should be disinfected regularly.
